Have you ever faced that first-date dilemma? Where should you meet? Where to go? What to do? While you cannot find the exact answer for you, here are some places you should avoid for a first date.

Family Dinner

This may sound obvious, but there are still some people out there who think a family dinner is a great idea for a first date. Do you really want your mom and auntie scanning your date from head to toes before you even had the chance to properly introduce them? What if they poke their nose asking some “innocent” questions and make annoying comments? A huge no no!

An Arcade

No woman in her right mind would want to spend a first date watching the guy enthusiastically playing “Zombie Snatcher” and getting beaten by a 10 year old. It’s probably not the sexist thing to watch unless she’s really into arcade games.

A Museum or Art Gallery

If you are a history buff, you may think “why not?”. What about your date? Are you sure they are into the same thing? If you know exactly who you are dating, go for it, but if you have even the slightest doubt, look for something more casual and fun.

Dance Clubs

Dance clubs are great places of entertainment, but they are just not suitable for a first date. All that loud music and flashing lights don’t leave too much room for conversation. What if your date is not a good dancer? Wouldn’t they feel more comfortable chatting casually in a café instead of feeling like having to pass a dancing skills test?

The Beach

A walk on the beach is fun and a great idea for a first date, but don’t expect your date to bring the bikini. It’s just too many steps ahead, don’t you think? There are quite a few things you can do and a few places you can visit before you hit the beach, get sun-tanned and enjoy the waves together.

A Wedding

It’s probably too soon to take someone to your best friend’s wedding on your first date. Two people celebrating their LOVE with friends and family is a beautiful thing (key word, love) and perhaps you should save this one for later on. Having someone approach you with the question of “have you set the date already?” might be slightly awkward.
